Cankle watch '09

I think the sausages are bigger tonight!

Glenn & Jane "moved in" today and Jane made us an AMAZING dinner tonight!  Thanks!!!  We are so excited and grateful that they are here!!!

Can you say Cankles?!?

My ankles are so lovely.....  Thought I'd post a picture. 

We nearly went to the hospital last night (well, 2 nights ago now, since I'm writing this after 4:00 am on Wednesday) because my contractions were coming 5 minutes apart.  But I took a shower before we left and then they stopped.  Maybe today?!?  I think the baby wants me to go to work until the very last minute!  Did I mention the doctor said he'd induce next week if she doesn't come before that?!? 

I just hope she comes before I explode!  :-)

39 Weeks, baby room pics, etc....

Well, we had a busy day. Knute was hunting in the morning, I did about 8 or 9 loads of laundry (how did that add up so quickly?!?) and then we took down ALL the Christmas decorations after watching the Broncos lose another game. :-(   We are really baby-ready now!!  :-)  Knute is re-assembling the freshly washed car seats (covers) as I type this.  I have doctor's appointment first thing tomorrow morning, so hopefully he'll give us some good news!  Here is the latest belly picture (Knute told me I had to smile after the first one) and a couple of pictures of the baby's room for those of you who have been asking to see it.

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas once again!  We went to the Balk's house in Colorado Springs on Christmas Eve, where we had a delicious meal with the family and went to a lovely Christmas Eve service (even though I got a little sick) with beautiful music.  We opened gifts and then Knute and I went home for the evening.  On Christmas day, we went back down for lunch and time together before everyone went in different directions. 

We also got some GREAT news that my cousin Jennifer is expecting a baby next summer!!!!!  We are VERY excited for Jen & Nick!!!!  Congrats!!  :-)

We hope everyone else had a nice Christmas and was able to spend time with loved ones!

38 weeks

We had fun at Karina's party last night and Knute was excited that he ended up with a fun gift this year!  (Rock Em, Sock Em Robots and a drill!)  Better than the worry stones, home decorations or moose stress squeeze thing from years past....  :-)   It was also great to see Karla again!  Even Jk and Erika stopped by at the end! 

We have the Broncos game this afternoon - "hopefully"  it will be my last for the season, due to baby arriving, but we shall see.  I actually thought she'd be here already.....  Yikes!  I'm big and not sleeping, etc....  At least the next two weeks are "short work weeks" so I can relax a bit.  Sort of.  Note the look of despiration in my eyes! LOL!  :-)   I am HOPING that I'm not still "stuck" at 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced!!!! Fingers crossed!!!

Baby "dropped" a bit today!

Anyone else notice how much lower this baby is today!  Knute is nervous, it's cute!  :-)  I will be packing the hospital bag tonight after dinner though!!!!   Knute is making pheasant stroganoff!  YUM!

36 week appt today!

36 weeks, 2 days, actually. We found out today that I am 3 cm dilated and "very" effaced.  She could come at any time now!  Exciting!!!!  We have to get ready... really!!!!!  :-)

The doc said some would recommend bed rest at this point, but she didn't think it would make much difference at this point.  I'm just supposed to "take it easy" for the next week, because next Sunday I'll be a "full term" although if she comes now, the doc still thinks she'll be just fine!

Our first Christmas tree in our new house!

We put up our first Christmas tree ("married") together last night! We had fun putting up all of our old (and newer) decorations and think it turned out pretty well! It's been a few years since we've done a tree at all and we've decided that we'll have to do one every year now! :-)

ALSO! HAPPY (belated) 43rd birthday to KNUTE!!!!! We celebrated it last Wednesday! He went hunting the night before his birthday and got his first goose of the season! We might even try to cook it this weekend!

Off to finish up our Christmas shopping!

7:30 pm UPDATE!! WE HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED OUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!! Yippee!!!!!!

Happy day! Knute got back from a week + hunting trip to WI late last night (He says "I am SOOOOO happy to be home!") and the dogs and I are SUPER HAPPY he's home too! Just in time for my 39th birthday! It was a great day and would have been perfect if the Colorado Avalanche had won the hockey game tonight. It was still fun to go though! Maybe the only game of the season for me. We shall see! Posted is my 34 and a half week "belly shot". :-)

We have SO MUCH to be THANKFUL for!! Love to you all, from the Nelsons! :-)

Baby shower fun today!

Thanks to Irene & Kim for having such a great baby shower for me! It was a special day and I will remember it forever! Thanks to Jess (16 weeks, me at 32), Karina, Edie and Patty for making my day so special too! It was great to see and hang out with all of you!! And the cake was YUMMY too! :-)

On another note, Knute's house is FINALLY on the market!! Yippee, skippy! I did go over there tonight to work on cleaning it some more. We have a bit more work to do, but at least it's being marketed!! Tomorrow I will go back and finish up the kicthen and hopefully baths too! :-)

Knute is pheasant hunting in South Dakota and will be home next Tuesday!

The GOOD news was that Knute signed the listing agreement on his old house today!! Yippee! Going on the market Friday!!!! :-)

We finally broke down and bought a few things for the baby today (mostly on sale about 90% off!) but I thought I'd post a few of the favorites. The one Knute is holding is obviously is FAVORITE! He's hoping we can shrink it enough that it will fit her next fall! :-)

THANK YOU to Jen, Heidi & Laura for making our day SO MUCH FUN!! Knute and I had the greatest time!! And thank you to all of our wonderful friends who came over to celebrate with us! We loved your "advice" sheets and thank you for the lovely and generous gifts! We are so blessed to have you in our lives and our baby girl is very lucky too!!!

Race For The Cure 2009

We did the race again this year! Another great turn-out and we raised $1,475!! Had an awesome breakfast burrito bar afterwards! Hopefully one year, they'll actually annouce a CURE!

We had a great time in Arizona! We took a day trip to the lovely and beautiful Sedona. Really, it was STUNNING! Knute played golf at the PGA course, TPC (Tournament Players Course) one day too. We ate a lot and spent the rest of the time resting and/or in the swimming pool! Perfect get away! :-)
