Copper Mountain Weekend!

After a fairly miserable and hot week in Denver, we decided to head for the hills this weekend!  It was fun being at the condo after way too long, but unfortunately, we all got sick (cold/flu) and didn't get to enjoy everything as much as we had hoped.   Friday night we stopped for dinner in Dillon and then just watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.  (Hana was inspired - see below!)

We had a bit of rain on the way up!

But it stopped when we arrived~

Hana entertained herself (and us!)

Nighty, night hugs.

We did manage to go over to Breckenridge yesterday and had a nice lunch, but we didn't make it back to Frisco for dinner as we had hoped.  We also had planned to have a nice lunch before we left, but ended up doing a drive-through in Dillon instead.  We hope to make it up there again one weekend this summer when we are healthy!

Good morning Copper Mtn!  I love this view!

Walking around downtown Breck.

Sunday morning below:

Also, I want to show the progress of our garden!

Beginners as we are, I am surprised daily that these little seed we planted are actually growing!
(Although, we did add a few plants later on, like the taller tomato plant, a strawberry plant and
a raspberry plant, which isn't doing all that well....)

Yard project and Zoka's anniversary

And should be completed later today!

That's a lot of rock!

Supplies were delivered on Wednesday!

Amazing how quickly they got that are leveled!

I did order new rings for the trapeze.  They will arrive next week.

On Sunday the 22nd, the Keeley's came by for dinner!
I took Zoe for her first ever ride in a convertable!
It's always nice to see the Keeley's when they are in town!!

Diane, Zoe and Jim

Hana and Knute posing for pictures for Jim (so I took one too!)

I should mention that last Saturday, July 14th, we went up to Zoka's
to help celebrate the 6 year anniversary!
Kurt and Karen were there (of course!) and we stopped by the place where we got married on the way up, so Knute could do a little fishing.  A fun day!

"HI DADDY!"  :-)

Dinner!  We just missed actor Bill Murray!

Kurt and Karen!

And this was a couple nights later.
Hana is getting really good at eating corn with her "handlebars" as she calls them!

Swing!

This weekend, we worked more on the yard (renting a tiller, even!) until we gave up and decided to get professional help!  It is just too much work!  The should start (and hopefully finished!) later this week!  We are so excited!

Then, after looking at incredibly expensive new swing sets, we finally found a nice new one for a steal!  It was a LOT of work getting it home, but once the guys level out the play area, they will be able to put it back together (with Knute's guidance and numbering system) pretty easily.  I will stain it and it will as good as new!  Maybe better, if I put chalk paint on the picnic table top (and maybe other areas?!?)  I think I'll try to make it extra cool for out little princess!  :-)

Just starting to take it apart

After deciding it was WAY too much work to take the whole thing apart... the 3 of us dragged it up a steep, wet hill, only to discover it was an inch an a half too wide for the Avalanche and mu truck was fairly useless as well.....

Taking what we can....

Rented this for the big piece.

Yep, Knute and I got this out all by ourselves.
(He really lifted it mostly himself - SO strong!!!)

We put this in the garage to really dry out, so I can paint/stain it before it's reassembled.  It will be too tall to do it afterwards.  I may try to do most of it. although since it's raining again, I think the big piece will have to be painted next weekend, once it's all together again and dried out by the sun!

Wednesday, July 11th

Well, I've been working on this after work each night and have it "partially" painted with the wood stain.  We actually went out to dinner tonight to take a break and Hana discovered the climbing wall when we returned.  It's upside down from painting and she really destroyed her shoes, but I think she's going to love it!  We couldn't get her to come down!  :-)

July 5th

Hana is 2 and a half years old today!  Her personality is really blossoming and she is growing a lot too!

Helping daddy set-up the mister's!

Someone loves her dress-up pink heels...  :-)

Yesterday, we went to John and Nicole's house for a cookout and we all had fun.  Hana spent most of the time in their blow-up pool, which was nice, because of the hot weather.

We continue to make a progress with her new play area in the back yard (we might even rent a tiller this weekend to move things along, as we haven't been able to get "real" landscapers to come work on it yet).

The garden is coming along as well!  I can't believe summer is already 1/3 over!  It's just flying by!

ALSO, we went out to dinner with Eric, Angie, Britta and John a couple of weeks ago.
Eric & Angie are moving to Wyoming in about a week and a half and we're going to miss them a lot.
Britta and eventually Sonja will be moving into their house, so that's nice though!
