Hana Crawled Last Night!

Last night we were just hanging out and Hana was playing on the floor and all of the sudden she just "got it" and started crawling!  It was amazing!  I will try to upload the videos soon and post a link!  She is just spectacular!!  :-)

Copper!

We had a lot of "firsts" last weekend!  It was Hana's first trip to the mountains in general (she did well at altitude!) and her first time at the family condo at Copper Mountain.  We went up with our friends the Jorgensen's and their son Ryker (4 mo.)  We were messing around taking pictures of the two babies and I told Hana to give Ry a kiss and she did!!!  Well, she sort of licked his cheek, but she tried!  It was cute and I took a picture!
Then we went out for lunch and she sat in a restaurant highchair for the first time and did really well!  While we were there she seemed to want my water, so I tried giving it to her (in an adult glass) and she drank it right away!!  It was amazing that she could figure that out so easily!

Finally we heard two pretty clear "hi's" from her and a "mama" too, although not quite as clear.  She continues to say "dadadadada" too! It seems like she really wants to talk!

All in all, it was a really fun weekend (Knute was thrilled to NOT be doing yard work!) and she did amazingly well!  We'll have to go up there again!

Hana likes Watermelon - A LOT!

And apparently it makes her tired, as she fell asleep as I was feeding it to her tonight!!

We did get a LOT done around the house today though!  And Hana "supervised" again!  :-)

Hot~!

Ok, it probably wasn't the smartest day to do this (first 100+ degree day since the summer of 2008!) but we planted 10 new plants (all in the rocks!) and some flowers too!  I started trimming the big - huge - blue spruce on the north side of the property .... until I ran into a big hornet or wasp(?) nest.  They were NOT happy and I ran away.  BRAVE Knute retrieved my trash can, tree clippers and branches from the ground.  Guess we'll have to wait until fall to finish that job!  I just can't believe I never noticed them, since many of the new plants I've planted over the past  few weeks are right by that!  Scary!

Hana "supervised" most of our digging, but then got tired and had (is still having) her nap.  We both actually had 2 hands to eat our lunches today!  Fun!  Maybe the pool later!?!  We shall see!

Later: The pool heater was off, so we'll go in later instead!  Too bad, because we were all ready to go in!

Cookout at the Balks.

Last night we went to John & Karla's to eat the fish (and many other interesting things like wild turkey, chicken fried goose and delicious moose too!  (Seriously!)  It was all good and we had a nice time, but Hana was a bit tired and cried for quite a while on the way home!  :-(

New shoes!  :-)

First fruit - bananas!

Didn't seem to go over all that well... although she made the same faces when we started the veggies too!

We shall see...

Hana's 6 Month Appt.

We went to Hana's 6 month doctor's appt tonight!  Here are the statistics:

Weight: 14 lbs 5.8 oz. (25 percentile)
Length: 26 1/2 inches (75-90 percentile)
Head: 41 1/4 cm (50 percentile)

2 shots.  :-(  She's not feeling so hot now.  :-(  Next appt at 9 months..........

The good news is that Hana can now eat basically everything (except honey and cow's milk)!  We'll see how she likes fruit tomorrow!  Then all other fruits and (probably) by next week Gerber "2nd Foods" and then we'll be buying a food processor and giving her all the "real" food that we eat!  Such a big girl!!!

It's tough being little!  :-(

Happy 4th of July!

Well, the 4th is just not the same without Knute!  Hana and I both miss daddy!  She helped me pick out some flower today (she seemed to like everything I showed her!) and I just finished (rushed to) plant them as it's now raining!  They say it's supposed to rain a LOT all night and that the fireworks might be canceled.  We were not going to go this year anyway, so that's ok with us!

Happy 4th to everyone!  Hurry home Knute!

Hana's First Parade!

Today Hana and I drove down to Monument for their 4th of July parade.  We were told it's actually the "largest small town parade in the U.S.  I think I believe that, because it lasted a long time and Hana thought it was great!  :-)

After the parade, we went to the fair and I bought 2 pieces of "yard art" and I really hope Knute likes them!  I'll post pictures once we decide where to put them.  :-)

Sorry about ALL the pics of Hana in her new 4th of July dress (Thanks again Aunt Gayle!) but she was just so happy and cute!  Had to do it....  :-)
