May Means Graduation Time!

We've had a busy week.  Last week, Glenn & Jane arrived.  After spending some time in the Springs with the Balk's they came to our house on Wednesday.  Thursday brought lunch at my office building (always a fun treat for me, extra special with Grandpa & Grandma here!) and Hana's "Spring Sing" concert at Bethany.  It was fun to watch the kids sing and their finale was a song from the popular movie "Frozen".  All the girls were singing like crazy and the boys.... less so!  ;-)

 

 

Friday, we all headed down to Colorado Springs for JK's graduation from Lewis Palmer High School.  He was Magna Cum Laude and the ceremony was held at the Air Force Academy, as in prior years.  We are so proud of JK! 

 

 

 

 

Sunday was JK's graduation party.  Afterwards, we stopped by Karina and Marvin's house to spend a little more time with Grandpa (who wasn't feeling well and missed the party).  Hana helped with his 1,000 piece puzzle.  She just loves puzzles lately!  :-)

 

 

 

 

Monday (Memorial Day) was Glenn's 81st birthday!  We all gathered for brunch at the Inverness Hotel and had a very nice time.  Later that evening, many of us gathered again for dinner at the Chart House is Genesse.  Always a nice time and we were happy to get the extra time with Grandpa and Grandma before they head back to Iowa today.  It was a wonderful and special weekend, to be sure. 

 

 







May, Oh My!

Well, May started out nicely!  The weather was good and Hana even had her first ever sleepover at the Jorgensen's house.  (Spoiled her!!)   We made her room extra special, by adding her favorite new movie friends (Elsa and Anna, from the movie Frozen) clings to her wall!

We did fun things for her teacher all week, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.  We even made my "no bake" oat balls for her teachers and most of the staff at BECC for Friday.

 

BUT, at school on Friday, Hana had an accident.  She was apparently jumping off the monkey bars and her friend was underneath Hana.  Hana said she bumped into her on the way down and apparently landed on her right arm instead of her legs.  Hana was amazingly brave and now has a pink cast with purple glitter!  She'll get a new one (smaller) next week.  And 4 weeks after that, she'll get one that ends before her elbow and after THAT, she'll have a removable one for another 4 weeks.  It might be a long summer, but Hana is in her usual good spirits!  God bless her!  :-)
