For Ann. (Hana in her Baptismal Dress)

Ann asked where the pictures of "just Hana" in her baptismal dress (which is actually my nearly 40-year old dress!) were.... so here are a few!  :-)

Hana's Baptism - A Very Special Father's Day!

Godparents Uncle John and Aunt Karla, Pastor Tyg Taylor, Hana, Mom & Dad.
I made this cake (below) - Chocolate with fudge frosting around the edges & cream cheese in the middle.

Hana was baptized today Sunday, June 20th.  It was also Knute's first Father's Day!   We started the day with bacon scrambled eggs with cheese on top and then "scrambled" down to the Springs with my mom for Hana's big day!

My mom (Grandma Avery!) flew in yesterday for Hana's baptism.  Grandpa Glenn & Jane stayed (after Eric's wedding) as well as Great Aunt Krestie.  Hana's aunt Karla and uncle John are her Godparents.  Pastor Tyg Taylor at Trinity Lutheran (in Colorado Springs) performed her baptism.  Many of Hana's cousin's were there as well as some of our friends!  After the baptism, we all went to John & Karla's house for a big lunch.  It was a great day!

We also had dinner at the house last night (Friday) and the grandparents finally met!  That was fun too!  Hana tried ice cream.... loves it - just like her parents!

Hana's first trip to Boulder!

It was another cold and rainy day in Colorado! (Weird!) But we went to Boulder and had a nice time and great lunch. Aunt Gayle got to catch up with her friend from Cottage Grove and Hana got to see a street artist. Knute was very happy to get a glow-in-the-dark constellation set stars to decorate Hana's room (similar to what he has growing up) and he's excited to put it up!  (One day he'll have time!)  :-)

Oh, I forgot to mention we played (boys against girls) cribbage and we (girls) won the first round (3 games) to make us "Champions of the World"   yesterday and then the boys one today.  SO, we decided to play one final game for "Champion of the Universe) and sadly (for us) Knute and Uncle John won.  I say rematch over Thanksgiving!!

Lunch (during happy hour!)
Fun on Pearl Street Mall in Boulder!
Hana enjoyed the excitement on the Pearl St. Mall!

Happy Birthday Uncle John!

I am so happy you and Aunt Gayle came to visit!   They arrived last night and we had Knute's terrific venison tacos!  Today we (aunt Gayle!) mowed the lawn at both houses while I got rid of more trash and pulled weeds, etc..  I made a cake for Uncle John's 67th birthday and we went to Zoka's for dinner.  The we showed them where we got married.

Hana had a great time getting to know them and they felt the same way!  :-)

Mountains, horses and dinner!

Our busy day continued yesterday!  We took Hana to the mountains for the first time yesterday.  AND she got to sit on a horse for the first time too!  (Thanks Marie!)  She was a hit at Zoka's and we look forward to going back next Friday when Aunt Gayle and Uncle John are in town. Then we "showed" Hana where we got married and she seemed to really like the river!  Fun day!

Tomorrow, back to the yard work!

First time on a horse!
Hana seemed to like Marie's horse.. even if I didn't photograph her smiles!
