Uncle Mike's surprise Visit.

This is a great weekend!

Today, I pretty much finished my Christmas shopping!  Just one more item for Knute, which I can't get now anyway, and I am done!  Super excited!  But the fun part was that I got to go with my friend Kim and we had lunch afterwards.  I can't remember ever doing that before... really - ever!  Nice!  :-)

Then, the other exciting thing that happened was my b-i-l Mike was in town for a friend's son's college soccer games this weekend.  After hanging out with Kim, Mike came over and Hana got to see her uncle that she;s doesn't get to see very often!  The bonus was that Natalie, Kyle and Kylie Sipes came over too!  The girls had a great time playing and creating art!  All in all a great day!

Sunday was fun!  Before the Broncos game we met up again with uncle Mike at RooBar.  Also, since Hana's cousin Maren was in town, we got to see her as well!  It was a fun few hours and we were really happy that the Broncos beat the Raiders.  They are 2 and 2 so far this season.

Grandby Vacation

Last Saturday we headed up to Grandby.  We had a great time exploring the Grand Lake area and spent time in Winter Park too.  In Grand Lake we went to Adams Falls - a nice a pretty hike that was totally manageable for Hana.  We played on many swing sets and tried to do putt-putt golf, but we missed it by a day.  They were covering everything up for winter.  Hana had fun in the pool learning to "kick, kick, kick" and the hot tub as well.

All of the sudden today, we had a ton of orange pop up from our carrots!  It was so fun to pull them and eat them too!  Hana Love them and I learned that the bigger ones are really much more difficult to get out!  I broke all of them.. I guess I'll have to google how to get them out properly.

Besides a ton of carrots, we also picked a couple of cucumbers.  Hana ate almost an entire one!  We also enjoyed a handful of cherry tomatoes.  They were a bit tart - so Knute loved them and said "I finally found tomatoes I like to eat!"  They were tart and "not all gooey" he said.  A fun veggie night for all!

Party, Party!

Yesterday we had our 3rd annual summer party!  We (mostly) joked on our invitation that it was "only from 3-7 pm this year - 9 tops" and people believed that we would kick them out.  Next year, we'll word it differently, but it was nice to be able to go to bed at a semi-decent hour this year!  This time Knute made venison tacos and our friend Ann made shredded chicken.  We had all sorts of Mexican sides and other fun things that people brought.  This year the art project was wooden bird houses.

I think and really hope that everyone had a wonderful time.  I know we did!
