June in Michigan....

is hot and humid!

Hana and I went to Michigan last weekend to see some friends and family (in Grand Rapids) and to help my mom with her finances and stuff in Kalamazoo.  My Uncle John and Aunt Gayle also came in from Minnesota.  It was nice to see everyone and grandma really enjoyed spending time with Hana.  It was good to get some things organized for my mom, but we actually have a lot more to do (which is taking up pretty much all of my extra time these days!)  Hana also got to see my uncle Don and Aunt Ann again and she also met my aunt Pat and uncle Fred for the first time.  Nice day!

Oh!  I should mention that Knute was in Canada fishing with his dad and friends on their annual trip while we were in MI and they had a GREAT time!  Although, I hope next year he is home for Father's Day!  We missed him!!  :-)

Always fun with Aunt Gayle around!

That went by Fast!

Well, I blinked and last weekend was over!  We had fun doing a variety of things!  Knute and I have both used and thoroughly enjoyed out new GAS cook top!!!  We love it!!  (See pics at the end of the post below!)  Sadly, not one person has called on the old electric one, but we hope to sell it!

Saturday, after a nice, but busy morning of sprucing up the outside of our house (and Knute spraying out the gutters!) Knute went to a golf tournament.  His group tied for 2nd place (although lost a coin toss and came home with a 3rd place trophy and a gift cert to the pro shop.  He also won an individual prize (closest to the hole, I think?) for which he won $50 gift cert to a restaurant downtown!  Quite the successful day for him.

Meanwhile, Hana and I had a great time at the Denver Zoo.  This time she enjoyed the sea lions and the giraffes the best.  But she also seemed to like the lions and the peacocks that were walking around.  Possibly most of all though, she enjoyed pushing around her own stroller like a "big!" girl.  :-)  After that, we went home and had a little ice cream, because it was really hot outside!

Sunday morning, we went to the Jorgenson's for brunch.  Hana played in the little pool with baby Ryker and had a GREAT time!  We enjoyed a wonderful meal and great conversation!!
Later in the day, we went to Colorado Springs for dinner at the Balk's!  Karla & co. are driving Kelsey & Jordan back to WI (and IA) to move Kelsey into her new apartment before they leave for Norway in about 2 weeks.  Poor Jordan doesn't get to go, because his new job starts next week, while Kelsey's job starts next month.  Actually, they are both lucky to have jobs right out of college!  Drive safe.

I forgot my camera for pretty much everything this weekend, but here are a few shots of Hana's new pool!  We had to buy one after she had SOOOO much fun in Rykers!!  :-)
