Then, after looking at incredibly expensive new swing sets, we finally found a nice new one for a steal! It was a LOT of work getting it home, but once the guys level out the play area, they will be able to put it back together (with Knute's guidance and numbering system) pretty easily. I will stain it and it will as good as new! Maybe better, if I put chalk paint on the picnic table top (and maybe other areas?!?) I think I'll try to make it extra cool for out little princess! :-)
Just starting to take it apart
After deciding it was WAY too much work to take the whole thing apart... the 3 of us dragged it up a steep, wet hill, only to discover it was an inch an a half too wide for the Avalanche and mu truck was fairly useless as well.....
Taking what we can....
Rented this for the big piece.
Yep, Knute and I got this out all by ourselves.
(He really lifted it mostly himself - SO strong!!!)
We put this in the garage to really dry out, so I can paint/stain it before it's reassembled. It will be too tall to do it afterwards. I may try to do most of it. although since it's raining again, I think the big piece will have to be painted next weekend, once it's all together again and dried out by the sun!
Wednesday, July 11th
Well, I've been working on this after work each night and have it "partially" painted with the wood stain. We actually went out to dinner tonight to take a break and Hana discovered the climbing wall when we returned. It's upside down from painting and she really destroyed her shoes, but I think she's going to love it! We couldn't get her to come down! :-)
