She underwent two difficult surgeries and started chemo last Thursday. She is a strong woman and we all really believe that she will make a full recovery. Totally awing us, she, despite being tired and sick the day before, completed the entire race (5k walk) with our Team RooBar. We also raised nearly $2,500 this year. Solvieg brought 14 girls form her high school basketball team (all wearing specially decorated "Karla" bibs.) For many of them, it was their first ever Race.
It was a happy, yet emotional day for all of us. After the race, we enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Roo prepared by our talented southern chef, Vance.
And this evening, Hana made us laugh!
While some people enjoy eating chocolate,
she decided it would be better to wear it!
After the ONE cookie she had, she made me dance with her 4 or 5 times to
"Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon 5. Funny child. :-)
